PLUTO TREE PEONY
Very large semi-double flowers of very dark clear red with nearly black flares. Petals are very ruffled and fringed with many notches. Flowers glow and have an outstanding form. Plants are relatively short, but are good growers. Many ground shoots produced on plants that lack a uniform growth pattern. I would not be without this plant in my garden for flower beauty. Challenging fertility, but doable. Not commonly available.
PINK PARASOL SURPRISE HERBACEOUS PEONY
Pink Parasol Surprise is a unique blend of pink, cream and yellow. A bomb type with a surprising pink parasol of extra flower petals perched on top of each bloom. The center tuft matches the light pink guard petals and contrasts nicely with the creamy yelow staminodium. Fragrant and vigorous. 30" tall.
LAVENDER TREE PEONY
Many petaled semi-double lavender petals and stamens, cream-lavender sheath, pink stigmas, dark purple flares. Petals are creped and ruffled. Flowers 6-7". Beautiful rounded and deeply cut leaves gracefully cover the medium sized shrub. Plants are heavy bloomers with good stem strength. Very hardy; Good stem strengthTo 4 feet and 5 feet wide after 10 years. A superior rockii hybrid. Fertile both ways. One of the most popular woody peonies we carry and worthy of any garden. Fragrant.
BESSIE HERBACEOUS PEONY
Bessie Peony have large, pink, spectacular blooms. Easy to grow. Warm green foliage offsets flower beauty and adds charm. Excellent cut flower. Sweetly scented. Double Form, 26" tall
MARIA TERESA TREE PEONY
This dark pink double is a with dark flares has pollen and seeds. Light fragrance. It is reliable, with 1-2 buds per stem, good substance. It grows to 4 feet, vigorous with good stem strength. Dark green foliage. It is very floriferous with an abundance of flowers. Holds the flowers high and lasts for about two week.
BOREAS TREE PEONY
Red, single to semi-double. Petals are lightly ruffled, turning in and out in different directions as though a strong wind is blowing with great force. Looks and feels as though made of velvet. Pink stigmas, red stamens and medium red sheath. Plants are extremely fast robust growers. The long stems can be winter killed in Wisconsin, but always regrow to bloom in the spring. Plants become large over time and have excellent large deep green foliage. Boreas is a very upright grower that produces many shoots and can be used as a foundation shrub. Does produce seed, but these are often ruptured or split. Fragrant.
TAMASUDARE TREE PEONY
A large cream-white double to semi-double flower. Beautifull ruffled blooms carried on upright stems. Plants grow upright and have good stem hardiness. Reliable. 4-5' tall.
More to come
SEDONA TREE PEONY
Semi-double to single. Color is a blend that often looks like the Sedona red rock in Arizona. Pink stigmas, red sheath and stamens. The plant is heavy blooming and often produces 3 buds to a stem. Fertility is very high and seedlings are among the best we've seen from any cultivar. Flowers on Sedona do hang and bend downward, but the plants are stunning when in bloom. Sedona produces many ground shoots well away from the original plant after a time. One of my favorite plants for many reasons. Long bloom season due to secondary shoots flowering well after others have finished blooming. Not easy to graft due to the low percentage of terminals produced (most stems flower). Easy seed setter and great pollen
